I traveled to Jamaica for the first time in 2003. I enjoyed my time there greatly, but there was one small disappointment. I had hoped to find some cool reggae t-shirts, but this was not to be. Other than the Bob Marley and Peter Tosh shirts that are also sold around the world, the only other reggae tee was several variations of the same design. It featured insect-like rastas holding an acoustic guitar and a conga drum, with the un-Jamaican sounding legend, "We Be Jammin!". That's not good. I decided that if I wanted cool reggae, ska and mento t-shirts, I'd have to design them myself. And "Mike's Reggae Shirts" was born. -Mike, NYC. October 2003 - March 2008

A new mento design has been added. "Calypsos From Jamaica" features a rare illustration of mento musicians from a vintage 1950s Jamaican album jacket. (Added March 2008.)
